Diagonal Cut Fun Fold Birthday Card

I had so much fun sharing this unique Diagonal Cut Fun Fold Birthday Card featuring the beautiful Balloon Festoon bundle.

To create today’s card, I also used:

These little finishing touches really make this birthday card pop!

Balloon Festoon Diagonal Cut card

● Take the 6-1/2” x 4-1/4” piece of cardstock.

● Score 1/2” in from each short end.

● Fold on the score lines to create two flaps.

Inside of Card

● Take the 4” x 5-1/4” piece of white cardstock.

● Stamp your sentiment onto the white cardstock.

● Set aside.

Designer Series Paper Panels

● Take the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” piece of cardstock.

● Adhere a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Designer Series Paper to the panel.

● Cut a second piece of Designer Series Paper to 4” x 5-1/4” and place it on top of the first piece, but do not adhere it.

Create the Diagonal Opening

● Using your paper trimmer, cut diagonally through all three layers at the same time.

● Remove the two loose Designer Series Paper pieces.

● Use these two pieces for the inside of the card.

● Adhere the diagonal Designer Series Paper pieces to the flaps created on the card base, forming a diagonal opening card.

Decorate the Front

● Cut out your desired images.

● Stamp your sentiment and cut it out if needed.

● Adhere the images to the front of the card.

● Attach the sentiment to the front.

Add Balloons to the inside of the card 

Finishing Touches

● Take a piece of ribbon and a tie bow for the front 

● Glue the ribbon to the front of the card.

Easy Pop Up Card with Violet Dreams Suite

Front Pop-Up Card Instructions

Supplies

* Card Base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”

* Basic White Cardstock: 4-1/8” x 5-1/4”

* Glitter Paper: 4” x 5-1/4”

* Designer Series Paper: 3-3/4” x 5”

* Ribbon

* Scalloped Oval Die

* Coordinating Dies, Stamps, and Gems

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of cardstock to 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and score at 4-1/4”. Fold on the score line to create your card base.

2. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4-1/8” x 5-1/4” and score at 2-1/16” (the center).

3. Create the front pop-up mechanism by scoring two diagonal lines from the top corners of the white cardstock down to the center score line, forming a V shape. Fold and burnish the score lines well.

4. Cut a piece of glitter paper to 4” x 5-1/4”. Using the Scalloped Oval Die, cut an opening from the center of the glitter paper.

5. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper to 3-3/4” x 5” and adhere it to the front of the glitter paper layer.

6. Wrap a piece of ribbon around the center of the layered glitter paper and secure it on the back.

7. Adhere the completed glitter paper layer to the front of the card base.

8. Attach your die-cut images and sentiment to the front of the card as desired.

9. Tie a bow and attach it to the left side of the ribbon.

10. Embellish the card front with coordinating gems.

Inside the Card

11. Using another coordinating die cut, trim one side so it has a flat edge.

12. Adhere the die cut to the left side of the V-fold mechanism, creating the pop-up feature inside the card.

13. Stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card and add any coordinating stamped images to complete the design.
