Modern Christmas 3 D Ornament Pop out Card Fun Fold Friday

Thank you for joining me today for Fun Fold Friday featuring the Modern Christmas Suite!  I had such a wonderful time creating these projects—a few fun fold cards, a scrapbook page, and even an ornament.

I just love the look of classic black and white with a touch of gold—so simple, yet so elegant.

3D Ornament Card Directions

Supplies Needed

• ½ sheet of cardstock (card base), scored in half

• Gold foil: 4” x 5 ¼”

• Designer Series Paper (DSP): 3 ¾” x 5”

• Basic White: 4” x 5 ¼” (inside layer)

• Circle die

• Ornament die (cut 3 pieces)

• String or twine

• Gold hoop embellishment

• Sentiment stamps

Instructions

1. Prepare the Base

• Start with your ½ sheet of cardstock and score in half to create your card base.

2. Front Layers

• Attach the gold foil (4” x 5 ¼”) to the card front.

• Layer the DSP (3 ¾” x 5”) on top of the foil.

3. Cut the Window

• Open the card base.

• Using a circle die, cut a circle through the front panel. This will create a “window.”

4. Create the Ornament

• Die cut 3 ornament pieces.

• Fold each piece in half lengthwise.

• Glue the halves together, back-to-back, to form a 3D ornament.

5. Assemble the Inside

• Take the Basic White piece (4” x 5 ¼”).

• Attach a piece of string to the top of the ornament and glue the ornament to the white panel so that it lines up with the circle window from the front.

• Stamp your sentiment on this inside white panel.

• Adhere the white panel inside the card base.

6. Finishing Touches

• Close the card so the ornament pops through the front circle opening.

• Add a gold hoop embellishment around the circle on the front.

• Stamp and adhere your front sentiment.

• Tie a bow from twine and glue it to the top of the ornament string.
