Waterfall Fun Fold Card Instructions

Card Base: 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”

Supplies Needed:

Card Base: 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” (standard size)

Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4” x 5 1/4”

White Cardstock (back piece): 4” x 5 1/4”

Strip for anchor piece: 1” x 4 1/4”

4 squares of colored cardstock: 2” x 2”

4 squares of white cardstock: 1 3/4” x 1 3/4”

Waterfall strip (mechanism): 2” x 9” scored at:

2”, 2 1/4”, 3 1/2”, and 4 1/4”

Optional: Ribbon and/or punch for pull tab

Step-by-Step Directions:

1. Prepare the Waterfall Strip:

Score the 2” x 9” piece at 2”, 2 1/4”, 3 1/2”, and 4 1/4”.

Fold on all score lines to loosen the paper and create flexibility.

2. Prepare the Waterfall Panels:

Layer each 1 3/4” white square onto a 2” colored cardstock square.

Stamp or decorate as desired.

3. Attach Panels to Waterfall Strip:

Starting at the bottom (near the 2” score line), attach each layered square panel between the score lines, working your way up. Align each square so it fits neatly within the fold lines.

4. Assemble the Card Front:

Glue your 4” x 5 1/4” Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto the 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” card base.

Take your 1” x 4 1/4” strip, and glue just the ends to the card front about 1” from the bottom of the DSP to create a strap or anchor (do not glue the middle).

5. Attach the Waterfall Mechanism:

Slide the bottom end (the end with no squares) of the 2” x 9” waterfall strip behind the 1” anchor strip.

Add glue only to the front of the 1” strip where it will touch the back of the bottom panel. This holds the first panel in place and allows the rest to “waterfall” when pulled.

6. Optional Finishing Touches:

Add a piece of ribbon to the bottom of the waterfall strip to help with pulling.

You can punch a half-circle at the bottom center of the card for easier access to the pull tab.
