Fun Fold Friday with Perfectly Pears Pop Up Card

I had so much fun creating this unique fold, and honestly — I was surprised at how easy it came together once I got started! It may look complicated, but it’s totally do-able and so much fun to decorate. 🎨✂️

Interactive Pop-Up Card Tutorial

🧰 Supplies Needed:

• Cardstock (for base and pop-up pieces)

• Designer Series Paper (DSP)

• Scoring tool

• Bone folder

• Adhesive

• Paper trimmer

✂️ Instructions:

1. Create the Card Base:

• Cut cardstock to 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”.

• Score at 4 1/4” and fold in half to make a standard A2 card base.

2. Prepare the Center Pop-Up Mechanism:

• Cut a second piece of cardstock (same color as base) to 4” x 4”.

• Score 1/8” in from both left and right sides.

• From each 1/8” score mark, score diagonally inward to form an “X” across the center.

• Then, score vertically down the center at 2”.

📝 Tip: Fold on all the score lines to make the piece flexible — it should form a triangle shape that pops when opened.

3. Decorate the Inside:

• Cut two pieces of DSP to 4” x 5 1/4”.

• Adhere these to the inside panels of your card base.

4. Add the Pop-Up Mechanism:

• Add adhesive to both 1/8” scored tabs of your 4” x 4” pop-up piece.

• Center it inside the card, aligning with the fold. Press down so the triangle pops up when opened.

5. Make the Pop-Up Supports:

• Cut two pieces of cardstock to 2” x 4”.

• Score each at 2” (in half).

• Fold and glue them to the inside panels, one on each side of the pop-up triangle, to form raised pop-up areas.

6. Decorate Pop-Up Panels:

• Cut four pieces of DSP to 1 3/4” x 1 3/4”.

• Adhere these to 

the pop-up flaps created in step 5.

7. Decorate the Front of the Card:

• Cut another p

iece of DSP to 4” x 5 1/4”.

• Adhere to the front of the card.

• Decorate as desired with stamps, die-cuts, sentiments, etc.

8. Add a Signature Panel:

• Cut white cardstock to 4” x 5 1/4”. • Adhere to the back of the card for writing your message.
