Double Fold WOW Card

If you’re looking for a card that’s easy to make but looks like a total WOW… this Double Fold Card is it!

This design is all about simple scoring and layering that creates a beautiful interactive fold. When you open it up, you get multiple panels to decorate—perfect for showing off your favorite Designer Series Paper and adding those extra special touches.

I love this one because you can dress it up or keep it simple:
✨ Add embossed die cuts for texture
✨ Let your DSP shine through the openings
✨ Finish it off with ribbon, gems, and your favorite sentiment

And the best part? Once you make one, you’ll want to make a whole stack—they come together quicker than they look!

I’ve included the full step-by-step directions so you can create this card right along with me. This would be perfect for birthdays, thank you cards, or even a special thinking-of-you card.

Double Fold Card Instructions

Card Bases:

1. Cut a piece of White Cardstock to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”.

    * This will be your base layer.

2. Cut a second piece of cardstock to 5 1/4” x 11”.

    * Score at 1 3/4”, 3 1/2”, 5 1/4”, and 7”.

    * Burnish all score lines well.

Front Panels:

3. Cut 4 strips of cardstock or Designer Series Paper to 1 1/2” x 5”.

* Adhere these to the four small front panels.

Inside Panel:

4. Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper to 3 3/4” x 5”.

* Adhere to the inside panel.

Center Fold Piece:

5. Cut cardstock to 3 1/2” x 7”.

* Score at 3 1/2” and fold in half.

Decorative Elements:

6. Take 2 pieces of cardstock and run them through an embossing folder.

* Die cut your images from these embossed pieces.

7. Cut 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper to 3 1/4” x 3 1/4”.

    * Adhere behind the die cuts so the DSP shows through.

8. Attach these decorated panels to the front and inside panels of the 3 1/2” x 7” folded piece.

Assembly:

9. Adhere one side of the 3 1/2” x 7” folded piece to the inside of the card.

10. Fold it closed and adhere the other side to the front panel, creating the double fold effect.

Finishing Touches:

11. Add ribbon, gems, and stamped sentiment to the front.

12. Stamp your message on the white 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” panel (this is your writing panel).

13. Adhere the completed card to your card base.

💡 Tip: Make sure everything is well burnished so your folds stay crisp and the card opens and closes smoothly.
